It’s an all women affair on Kibaaro Radio tonight, as Kibaaro’s Monica Njie, the co-anchor of ‘Every Woman’, hosts Mrs. Fatou Camara in a live ‘Woman to Woman’ chat on Kibaaro Radio.

Fatou Camara, the former darling of the Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS) meets the darling of Kibaaro Radio, Monica Njie. Fatou also worked as the former Director of Press and Public Relations to President Yahya Jammeh. A position she served until September 2013, when she was given her marching orders by the most frequent dismissing President of the planet earth.

Shortly after her dismissal, she was arrested on 15 September 2013 and detained for 25 days before the Magistrate court granted her bail on 10 October 2013. She was charged with ‘‘giving false news through the internet to Pa Nderry Mbai, editor-in-chief of the Freedom Newspaper.’’ Charges that she vehemently denied.

Whilst on bail, Fatou managed to flee the country into the neighbouring country of Senegal and later the United States before her second appearance in court of 28 October 2013.

After her escape, Fatou initially maintained the traditional silence over her experience of working with the Gambian President; leaving many to wonder whether she had also been a victim of the Jammeh Marabouts, who had casted spells over many former Jammeh cronies into silence.

However, Fatou had since broken the tradition of silence and gave interviews to both Gainako News and Freedomnewspaper. She has now agreed to give a ‘Woman to Woman’ chat to our ‘Every Woman’ co-anchor Monica Njie.

We have tried to obtain a sneak preview of the ‘Woman to Woman’ chat from Monica, but she refused. She only hinted that she has many questions for Fatou.

I guess we all have to listen to the program to find out!

The program will be broadcasted live on Kibaaro Radio today, Thursday, 13 February 2014 from 7pm GMT.
