The Campaign for Democratic Change Gambia is organising a Symposium in London to mark its on-going Campaign for democratic Change in the Gambia.

The organisation, which is under the leadership of the Gambia’s former Vice President of the first republic, Bakary Bunja Dabo, wishes to invite all Gambians living in the United Kingdom to attend the event.

The CDCG is the main umbrella Gambian organisation in the United Kingdom, which came into being on 11 May 2013 at the Gambian congress in London.

They have since successfully organised several political events in London to highlight the deteriorating human right conditions in the Gambia. These include demonstrations in London against the Gambia government, the most recent of which was the demonstrations of 11 November 2013, which coincides with the 19 anniversary of the massacre of the November 11, coupists in the Gambia in 1994. The protest of 11 November 2013 also aimed to express the organisation detest of the Gambian President’s unilateral decision to withdraw the Gambia from the Commonwealth of Nations, as well as his diatribe against the Mandinka people of the country in October 2013.

The CDCG have also organised similar symposium in London on 31st August 2013 to grace the visit of the anchor of Freedomnewspaper, Mr Pa Nderry Mbai to the United Kingdom.

We publish the CDCG’s press release below:
