Gambian President Yahya Jammeh, who was forced to cut short his trip to France, is expected to land in Banjul on Sunday at exactly 6:30.
State House sources informed Kibaaro News that Gambian leader would leave France without going through medical check up with a doctor. President Jammeh had tried to stay calm in the midst of turbulence caused by Gambian demonstrators drawn from across Europe. Kanilai dictator is also said to be confused by reported unending problems in the Gambia during the past 72 hours.
Sources in Paris told Kibaaro News that Jammeh might be rushing to Banjul to avoid further embarrassment over a possible assult charges hanging over his rogue bodyguards for physically assaulting a Gambian protester, Ganyie Njie, who sustained injuries. A criminal complaint has already been filed with the police who are yet to question Mr. Jammeh’s bullies.
President Jammeh is rumoured to have also been in constant contact with officials in Banjul, where things do not seem to go down well. It was less than 72 hours after security officers dispersed Banjul and Bakau football fans who went on the rampage destroying properties and vandalising cars.
Later on Saturday, gun shots were heard around Yundum Barracks and Brikama where irate football fans were confirmed to have been engaged in a melee. Kibaaro News would keep you informed on President Jammeh’s state of mind upon arrival at home.
